Sports Illustrated lays off entire staff

End of an era.
"It is unclear whether Authentic will establish a new operator "
SI just a valuable name now.

The death knell was when they changed the formula of the swimsuit issue. Lots of talk but nobody buying

I didn’t know that the current publisher wasn’t the brand owner.

Lol, they sure did

Nothing to do with digital destroying all print media

Nope

Lots went into their demise.

It’s been a mess for a while. Seems it really started going downhill here.

This wasn’t long ago.

And of course the other recent controversy.

Have a Budweiiser and keep up the boycotts, very progressive of you

What they did to the swimsuit issue is the equivalent of Macys closing the whole month of December.

I answered your question your turn.

I can’t remember the last time i picked up a magazine, maybe the 90s

So you have a grievance and think its why SI fired everyone. There is word for that but Coogfans wants to protect your feelings from getting hurt so its banned

I didn’t know they changed the swimsuit issue. Really seems to me another failure for private equity management. Also I just wonder how sustainable the model was with one group owning the IP and a different one trying to manage the publications. It seems like only the editorial staff was invested in keeping it going.

SI becomes another one of the many legacy media casualties. I’m sure the brand still has value, it is possible a new business model and management could rebuild.

Side note, anyone still have a football phone?

Its a big reason

I’m sure you have some stats to back that up. Or are you just going by how you feel?
