Strength & Conditioning

I have not seen it mentioned but hats off to the Strength & Conditioning coaches. I do not remember seeing many injuries once we got into the season.

Strength and conditioning does not stop injuries

Uncle Dave would disagree with you on that. Prior to him, forcing art Briles to get a professional strength and conditioning coach, his teams were plagued with injuries. One strength and conditioning was fixed, injuries diminished dramatically.

I don’t know look at our basketball team supposedly the best strength and conditioning coach and look at our injuries the last few years I think a lot of it is just bad luck

S&C mitigates the chance of injury and helps reduce recovery time from injuries. Also S&C helps identify and correct muscular imbalances which sometimes lead to injuries.

Dunno. Technique, coach alignment, shifts, etc. all play a big part in who wins a defensive struggle. Go one on one like the big dudes do almost every down and that’s when the strength/condition really count. We seem to match up pretty well in that, but some of those monsters from out of state (and in state for a few) appear to have an upper hand as the game wears on. Honestly, I don’t know how they do it for a full game.

I thought that was because of 2nd half folds not injuries

Basketball players are playing both ends of the floor and about 40 games per season.

More games mean more chances of injury.

Thank you Memorial Herman for taking care of our kids. UH is blessed with being in a medically renowned city. Just a few steps away and there’s a world class center at our disposal.

Sure as heck plays a part in preventing them though
