Student Section Relocation

Y’all though Oregon State had a lot of people at the game, it was just because that was their students in the front 10 rows down that sideline

And displace other season ticket holders? Get real

I’m at virtually all home football and basketball games, so yes. The bottom of the student section wasn’t full, and there were very few people in the upper student sections. If 9000 is the max, we were probably at 2/3 of that, assuming there were a bunch hanging out in the shade.

That’s good progress, but it doesn’t warrant expanding the allotment and certainly not taking away revenue and displacing season ticket sections.

Student section was about 85% filled yesterday. Maxed out at Tech.

I disagree with you. And I’ve made my points. At Robertson, student section was also at the sidelines.

Student section had a ton of kids under the cover from the upper deck trying to get out of the sun and radiant heat,

After halftime a whole lot of people left or stood under cover to escape the heat. To get out of the sun, I moved to the south side to sit with a friend who’s wife didn’t go to the game.

As usual, our fans started trickling in about midway through the 1st quarter and it wasn’t bad, but wasn’t great either.

One of the problems is that a whole lot of the season ticket holders in the prime seats are older dudes like me. My wife will never go to a day game, nor will the wives of several of my friends. It’s a matter of health restrictions.

I understand. And I know many people went to get concessions after halftime.
But that visitors side gets TV coverage everytime and we’re being mocked for it being scarce. I’m posting to make a suggestion to improve the situation.

I think a lot of the people with season tickets on that side, have them just to sell them to opposing teams and make profits, so I actually wouldn’t mind his idea.

It seems to me that we may want to consider converting sections 132 & 133 (sideline bleachers) to additional student seating…assuming we have enough students to fill them up; and assuming that we can offer a decent relocation plan to the current season ticket holders in that area.

My buddy that used my tix sent me this pic… in the 2nd half people ran for the shade… it was 91F and 55% humidity… everybody went to the concourse… you can’t fix that.

Side note… you can see where the stadium gets shade earliest for future reference…

I wish the cameras would flip for basketball too showing the student side.

Unless President Khator and AD Nunez offer us luxury box seat at the same price as 129!

Student tickets are free. Don’t complain about the lack of money if you give away tickets instead of charging people for them (plus the Cougar Pride contributions).

Student seating can expand to sections 225-238

On field performance, being ranked, and who the opponent is will drive attendance upwards; not cameras panning in on the crowd or the student section.

The revenue collected from season ticket holders paying for sideline seats whether used or not has a greater impact to on-field performance through Athletics Department funding and player compensation than student filing seats.

That said, a vibrant environment is 100% additive to the overall experience.

They’re not free. They pay for it with their fees. Is it cheaper? Yes in comparison to other schools

Look at that 300 level. Nobody is sitting up there. We should take a few thousand tickets and donate them to local schools to attend the game.

Without the student vote there’s no TDECU. Just put the student section back to how it originally was. It sucks the the band now has visiting fans right next to them.

I guarantee you thousands entered with those seats… they just either stand in the concourse or sit in the lower bowl…

To have both sidelines full each game and not one guaranteed to be full of opposing fans because season ticket holders on that side purposefully sell those just to make a profit, would be much better in my opinion.

Seems like a lot of students are in the sun at atm and ut. Some even stand.
