Two games of terrible things from the UH pitching.

I’ve watched TCU 5 games in a row.
Looked beatable v UTRGV x 2 midweek.
TCU wins but so/so hitting.
(UTRGV & ECU our T-shirt teams this season)

2 of 3 at UCF not looking as crafty…

Cincinnati is not a very good team. They are one of the main reasons the Big 12 is down this year. They were expected to be much better.

At least we squeaked out the win over TCU. Made em mad!

Beating UCF for a tournament spot is looking good. Who else? BYU?

I don’t know how many other teams you pay attention to, but it’s a sport wide epidemic. I’m not defending TW I’m just saying it’s not unique to us.

What is a “sport wide epidemic “?

I wasn’t trying to say anything about TW in my post. Sorry if it came across that way.

I don’t know if I would call it a an epidemic across the sport. The ACC and Big 12 are down. The Big 10 is pretty much like they normally are, with one outlier being UCLA, who is a top five team. It is going to be interesting to see how the NCAA treats some of these low major schools who have good RPI’s. I fully expect those schools to drop a lot before the end of the year, but there is a few that will stay pretty. They are going to be in positions where the NCAA has awarded bids to those teams in the past.

If you don’t think Tommy John surgery is an epidemic across the whole sport of baseball you need to educate yourself a little bit.

Cool, I’ll educate myself……I know nothing about baseball.

Maybe educate yourself before you start telling us what is or isn’t in college baseball.

You may be Rayner Noble IRL and the best baseball mind in the room, but anyone that even casually follows baseball knows that Tommy John surgery is a huge problem at all levels.

I was just responding to your smart ass post with a smart ass reply. If you can’t handle the tone, then dont be a knob on the front end.

Sorry, I should’ve been more clear. I was talking about TJ surgery.

I know very well how many people across college baseball are having TJ and I know how many Houston has had in the last few years. Houston has had way more than most. They had 5 go down in one month a couple of years ago. The way he handles their workload is not right.

Fair enough. I agree he’s not blameless and could do a way better job managing arms.

TJ surgery is not pinned on coaches and the way they use college kids. Its a direct result of year round baseball growing up starting at the age of 12, increased pitch counts and the desire to pitch as hard as you can with improper mechanics and stress on the arm.

How many Greg Maddux or Zach Greinke type pitchers do you see anymore? How many pitchers in the SEC or high school are hitting upper 90 mph or 100. A lot. A long time ago there was a kid from Marshall, Texas in the late 90’s that hit 100 mph. He made national news and was a first round draft pick. Today a HS pitcher throwing 100 goes barely gets a golf clap.

What was the “smart ass post”?

When I originally asked what epidemic I was not sure what you were referring to……

That was not a “smart ass post”.

I didn’t get snarky until you came out with your “get educated” post….

So right back at you Phil.
