TDECU Stadium Naming Rights

Southwest Airlines Stadium since they fly over it a lot.

We were very close to a deal with Southwest. We were going to put their logo on the band hall building. Would’ve been great but TDECU has been an awesome supporter of UH way beyond naming rights. We should STOP moving games though.

Southwest was the company someone in the AD told me would be the sponsor. I always thought maybe I misunderstood. Glad I wasn’t far off.

I’d just as well keep TDECU. For nostalgia and the fact they believed in our football team when the days weren’t so rosy.

I would go with SCI, but I like where you are going with that.

However, with a name like that, we have to back it up with the play on the field.

Everyone old enough remember the “House of Pain”? Yeah, it was pain for us Oiler fans!

If we lose to Nerd U, that’s what the next home game will look like.

I could go for “The Melting Pot”, one for Houston’s diversity and secondly because you’ll literally melt in the Houston heat.

If we are going with weather analogies, how about “The Armpit”?

Why are you insulting our school and stadium? TDECU paid $10M in cash to sponsor our stadium for 5 years. That is $2M per year. That was the largest cash college naming rights deal at the time it was signed, and you want to name it armpit stadium? Bah!

Navient Stadium. We could nickname it The Student Loan. Nothing strikes fear like the mention of a student loan.
