Do scoreboards typically have naming rights?

Everything has a price.

Will the new walkway connecting the west EZ to the north stands be done for this season?

Sure. But aside from the many random, hypothetical things that are made up here on this board, I don’t remember the last time I saw a scoreboard have it’s own naming rights.

OK, I will name it the ā€œCoogTronā€. Now someone can put a scrolling banner at the bottom and give us $$$ !
Go Coogs !

If I had an opportunity to name my seats in the stadium for a price, I would. A small plaque on them would be kind of cool.

Great idea, gives some ownership to the program with something tangible.

The red lot used to have our names on the parking spots. It’s been several years since they stopped doing that. A name on a seat sounds like a cool idea.

When I went to the UH/KSU game in Manhatten, they have a huge tailgate lot that are numbered for each season ticket. Season tickets are passed down through the generations as is the parking spot. Big donors can upgrade their parking spot to the front gate (their football and basketball have next door front gates and use the same parking lot) It looks like NASCAR, everybody has flags and tents and grills, some RV’s mostly pick ups.

Cool but not practical. It is a multi-purpose stadium. A plaque requires you to drill holes in the seat. What about the people who do not renew? Have some seats with holes and others without? Seat naming plaques appeal to a fraction of the fanbase.

The personal seat license and Cougar Pride donations are the vehicle that UH gets extra money for seats because they determine your seat location.

Simply remove the plaque and replace with the generic Coog Fans filler plaque.

I would like to see our Athletic dept to survey the season ticket holders to gauge the interest
in the idea. I really don’t know if it’s 5 of us here that would go for it or 50% of the season ticket holders.

It seems like a classy thing to do, even for multifunctional events, someone would say, ā€œOh, look, I am sitting in Thomas Hitchcock’s seatsā€.

They did that for Covid and everyone decided to use a celebrity picture as the cardboard cutout.

Hope it has the biggest closed captions

Looks like we may be able to add seats in the future on each side of the screen to match BU’s 45K…

We could probably put those seats above the east end zone.

For the 1 millionth time, no talks of adding seats until we have 5+ years of sellouts.

The east side third deck can still be added and the third deck on the north side can still be replaced with a larger grandstand to match the south side.
