Tesla Odometers

This is a bit hard for me to believe, but there is apparently
a class action lawsuit on Tesla manipulating odometers to avoid
warranty repairs and induce purchase of extended warranties.

Tesla Inc. employs an odometer system that utilizes predictive algorithms, energy consumption metrics, and driver behavior multipliers that manipulate and misrepresent the actual mileage travelled by Tesla vehicles,” reads the lawsuit. “In so doing, Defendants can, and do, accelerate the rate of depreciation of the value of Tesla vehicles and also the expiration of Tesla vehicle warranties to reduce or avoid responsibility for contractually required repairs as well as increase the purchase of its extended warranty policy.”

If this is true, it would be devastating to the company I’d think. Much worse
than the VW scandal to defeat pollution control in the TDI episode. Time will tell.

I suspect this is happening to my non Tesla car. I use CarPlay everyday and Waze has a gps based speedometer, which always shows like 5mph slower than me dash speedometer. Which means it’s counting miles faster.

Mine is the same… if I want to do 45 on the gps I set it to 48 on my cruise control…

Also, traffic radars seem to align with the gps…

How sure are you that you have the right tire size on your car? That could be it, too.

Why would it come with wrong sized tires from the factory?
