Jim Brown was 6’ 2" 232 with a 33 inch waist. Average defensive lineman in 1965 was 210.
I had an uncle who played for TCU against Jim Brown and Syracuse in the Cotton Bowl. He said that dude leveled more punishment on the defense than anyone he ever went up against in college or professionally, and it wasn’t even close.
Vince Lombardi said the difference between Jim Brown and Jimmy Taylor was that Brown would give you a hip and take it away but Taylor would give you a knee and drive it through your chest.
Were you his tailor?
Getting run over by Boobie Miles wasn’t a lot of fun either.
I was amazed at Jim Brown as a kid. I ask my dad if any other team was named after a player. I thought they named the team after him. It was always 4-5 guys tackling. Then he would lie on the ground, very slowly pull himself back up. I read everything I could about him.
My Colonel played against him in lacrosse. Said he would trap the ball to his chest and take off daring you to knock it out.
Uhhhhh……
The Cleveland Browns were named after their original coach and GM PAUL Brown, not Jim Brown, after a fan vote.
See here.
Paul Brown tried to dismiss that by claiming that the team was actually named after boxer Joe Louis, who was nicknamed the “Brown Bomber,” but that’s false.
It was named after him.
The Browns have had that name since the 1940s, LONG before Jim Brown played.
I always assumed it was named after Brownies which is why its their alt logo
Oh yeah, did someone not know this? Also, Paul Brown is responsible for both pro teams in
OH. He founded the Browns as coach and co owner. He sold the team to Art Modell, who later then was fired him. So Brown took the money from the sale and founded the Bengals as an AFL team. The Brown Family still owns it, as every Bengals fan will sadly remind you.
Funny thing is, old school Browns fans loved Paul Brown because when he owned the team they were the best team in the NFL.
Fake CJ Stroud… ![]()

Sadly he got in - but average Joe gotta pay triple
He does look like Stroud…
I was 11 or 12 when I asked my dad about it
But you have to be an idiot to let him in….just a hair of common sense is all you need……
would CJ Stroud show up to the rodeo in his own jersey? ![]()
He just walked over there from practice and had his work clothes on. Duh.
OL so far.

As of now.
DHunt 2nd highest paid DE in 2026.
This Texans secondary is pretty stout. Pitre, Stingley and Hunter are all locked up - hope that OL remake works out.
Wow, with that kind of money being thrown around for linemen, they may catch up with UT’s payroll.
I see why they traded Tunsil. He was on the last year of his deal at $21 mil. He’ll be 33 at the start of his next contract.
This draft is loaded at 3 positions: DE, OT & RB. I expect them to grab an OT early.
Let’s go boys!
