Any word on an Alumni Association Tailgate?
We (Athletics, Alumni, university, etc.) plan to roll out everything middle of next week. Looking to have something for Friday night and for Saturday pre-game. Should be a great time!

Combine all the UH tailgates into one party close to the stadium. Have screens to watch the Texans. That’s what we want. And let us bring in our own drinks. I don’t want to buy the $18 beers you’re certainly going to charge. Make it a good time, not a rip-off that people want to stay away from.

The ‘Come one, come all’ approach is what we’re building out right now for the Saturday pre-game. Rather than have Nantz Leadership Society in one area, Lifetime Coogs in another, etc. – We’re looking to plant a flag in the ground and get everyone to the same spot.
As for food and beverage, that’ll end up being dictated by NRG and their partners. I would love nothing more than to have donated kegs rolled out under a tent. Alas, that usually doesn’t fly.

Ok, NRG will make us pay through the nose, so it sounds awful. I’ll drink at my own tailgate I guess.
This is typical, previous bowl games have had tailgates and meetups in bars, sometimes your paid admission gets you a couple drinks, but they are never BYOB.
Shotgun a sixer in the car like the rest of us.

Life Alumni tailgate used to give you free drinks and feed you, but now you have to pay for drinks. The whole reason I signed up was free drinks. Bait and switch.

They never did at a bowl game, I will say the Peach Bowl morning tailgate was pretty awesome, I ran in to several people I had not seen since school.

Yes, the bloody Mary bar at the official morning tailgate was the best!! Seems like they charged for the full breakfast and a couple of drinks?

Well… you’re certainly in the minority there… one of the all-time great defenses is on display by the Texans this year.
