Texas Game Attendance (I may be wrong)

Last night I noticed a LOT of empty gray seats. Just a thought which I have been saying for the past several months. It was cheaper for Longhorn fans to buy season tickets than the secondary market before the season started. And secondly, wasn’t there a package deal that included the Texas game, and one that did not include the Texas game? It would also probably cheaper for Texas fans to buy the package. I am thinking that all of those empty seats were bought by Texas fans, and a LOT of fair weather fans will put their tickets on the market to try and get something back this season. I still believe the stadium will be full, but I’m guessing it will be 65/35 % in Texas favor, which will be a home game for them.

There was no need for UT fans to buy season tickets to secure a ticket to the UT game. Plenty of single game tickets were available. Scalpers did buy up some prime tickets, but I don’t think there was a large contingent of UT fans buying season tickets.

Yall still think it will be sold out packed, tho if UH just keeps losing :eyes::eyes::eyes:

Those grey seats cost a $10,000.00 stadium donation plus the per seat donation plus the seat price plus having to pay extra for the Texas game. They were not included in any mini plan. The fans that have those seats were either sitting in their seats or upstairs in the club visiting with clients and business associates, visiting with friends, or eating dinner. They may be inside but there are tvs everywhere tuned to the game as well as those big windows.

As long as UT comes in undefeated, it should sell out.

Box office. Texas is a draw as a .500 team

If we keep losing, the question will be is it 50-50 split or 70-30 in favor of UT fans.

I haven’t seen UT play in person since we played them in 1990 in Austin. I really don’t care to see them in person ever again.

Blame local media - especially radio - for not changing that narrative

Blame city officials and celebrities for only bandwagoning uh when things are good -
We don’t have ride or die fans of influence

UT doesn’t give a rats behind about us lol

They will definitely show up, regardless of anything. At this point in the season they are really good and we are really not.

If UH loses vs Sam Houston St it would be 75% UT crowd and 25% UH crowd at 40k.

Nevertheless… It’ll be cool to see TDECU packed to the rafters!

I’ve had 6 empty seats next to me the past two games in the lower bowl visitor side for the past two games

I didn’t think this before the season, but now seeing the Dana limp show, I’m pretty confident that it will be over half burnt orange in that stadium. It’ll be another pathetic embarrassment, both in the stands and on the field.

Most of the empty gray seats are likely corporate season tickets. TDECU and nearly every logo you see inside the stadium gets tickets that they give to employees or customers. And if we suck or are playing nobody, they go empty.

They will be full for UT. I already know of several UT friends that have those tickets. And I know others who bought single tix on stubhub or similar.

The real issue is if we don’t win again the UH scalpers are going to have to lower their prices because a 7-0 UT vs 1-6 UH has no appeal to anyone (see UT games vs Rice at NRG for example).

Which is funny because UT doesnt give a single damn about us. Theres a reason why they said “Good for them” when we got the Big 12 invite

There are enough UT fans within 15 minutes of our stadium to fill it up five times on short notice. They will buy every available ticket. And they will dwarf our fans. Hell, by the time that game gets here I bet 10,000 of our fans will have changed sides.

Problem is not “Tejas” fans in our seats, it is an internal problem. First Big12 game after years of whining about being excluded. Saturday night wasn’t SRO, it wasn’t capacity, it was only 90%. New super conferences are coming with new alignments and will include invitation
only mergers and without rapid fan support we will be among the excluded again. The money demands it. Think SWC, Pac “2.”

If we get excluded again we are finished, will be regulated to some crappy conference again with no shot at a National Championship, probably would cause the football program to shut down
