I can tell you Lake Travis was beyond lucky to beat San Antonio Johnson by a touchdown.

Johnson turned it over FOUR times including a muffed punt I sided their own 10 yard line.

I have not seen North Shore this year but I was not impressed with Lake Travis AT ALL.

Allen and SLC should be the two champions this year.

Congrats to C.E. King for winning Region 3.

North Shore has a tendency to play undisciplined and get non-contact penalties. NS has to eliminate the stupid penalties. Lake Travis’ calling card all season has been their defense, and NS’ QB Kaleb Maryland has been a one man wrecking crew. Can LT contain Maryland? LT RB Van Hopping is the centerpiece of their offense. Can NS stop Hopping and create multiple 3rd and longs?

I expect a close, entertaining game.

Enjoying this Shiner Mount Enterprise game in New Caney. Sitting beside a fella from Klein decked out in UH gear. He was at Refugio game last night and going to North Shore tomorrow. He’ll be at our bowl game.

He said we’re a pro town when we were talking about UH attendance issues.

My son is reffing a game tonight. So much fun watching HS exuberance in the playoffs. Amazing how much differently you watch the game when you are paying as much attention to the refs as you are the players. :sunglasses:.

I joined TASO last year and did chains and play and game clock. Didn’t have time this year. A whole new perspective on games now. Most crews were good but I saw a few bad ones.

Good for you! I have done in the past and it is so much fun. I probably need to start doing that again. UIL could certainly use more support in that area.

It is really strange the way refs get paid. I never knew it was based on paid attendance at a game as opposed to a flat fee. Plus, how they are assigned the games. Eye-opening.
