30 of the top 50 Texas kids went out of state.

If this means the whorns and aggies aren’t getting some of those kids I’m totally fine with that.

A&M got their share. UT didn’t. Baylor, TCU, Texas Tech, and UH aren’t. We would get our share if we were in a money conference.
We also might if a coach that is ethical and can win stuck around for the better part of a decade.

The Big 12 passed on expansion, though an argument could be made it missed the boat by passing on Houston since that’s a market the Big 12 has lost to the SEC in recruiting and TV. Even Florida State jumped into Houston this year to sign Wilson, the nation’s No. 1 defensive tackle.

transition recruiting class or not the Texas faithful cannot be happy this year. No top 10 recruits and the number 26 recruiting class is not what Texas expects. To top it off, they had to raid the UH recruiting class to do it.
Many current recruits and their families understand that the Big 12 will most likely fade away into the history books in a few years. So, avoiding that (not-for-long) conference makes really good sense.

They aren’t. First time that UT hasn’t picked up a Top 10 player out of the state of Texas since the rankings were introduced. Our former coach is getting killed for it, especially since he claimed that he was bringing in a team of recruiters that were the best Texas had ever seen. Had to backtrack a little on signing day and then got caught in the lie about taking our recruits only when we didn’t have a coach (they offered Bimage 2 days after CMA was hired and they offered Cosmi last week).
He’s also taking a beating for hiring Coach Horny out of Baylor, especially with everything coming to light now. Hasn’t been the smoothest of transitions of him. Couldn’t happen to a nicer guy.
