The question should be ‘who was the first vice president of The Republic of Texas’. Yes I do know his name.

David G. Burnet. After declaring the Republic’s independence from Mexico, the delegates to the Convention of 1836 appointed Burnet as interim president. His term of office lasted from March 17 to October 22, 1836, when Sam Houston became the Republic’s first popularly elected president. Burnet would later serve as Mirabeau B. Lamar’s vice president and Texas’ first secretary of state after its annexation to the United States in 1845.
