I can never root for UT in anything…ever.
Plus, I kind of like Tech’s hayseed coach, even though his hyper-substitution thing drives me nuts. He got his start coaching his kids when he was already in his 40s after being a hunting guide in Mexico, started a championship travel team, then moved up the coaching ranks - cool story.

His teams, played in a few of the same tournaments in Colorado and Oklahoma that my daughter’s 18U team played in during her high school years. I remember him from those years.

If it is B12 vs others I will cheer B12 (even TT and UU) , In conference it is UH over anybody and if UH not involved anybody over TT and UU.

People will latch on to the NIL angle, but that dude would have competitive teams even without paying big $$. Players could transfer anywhere and get paid. They want to play for a great coach, play with other great players and compete at a high level, and all pitchers want to get a chance to hit.

This is absolutely the only time I can ever pull for ut. Tech’s new found arrogance and self entitlement supersedes ut’s current and past self entitlement.

Nothing TT does athletically is “good for the Big12”. That’s not the narrative. TT is a big-spending free agent. They are about themselves only.
The Big12 doesnt get anything aside from a few bucks out of a TT win. No positive press, no spin, nothing. The only narrative coming out of Tech wins is about $ and how much of it they spend. TT athletics is a vanity project for a guy too stupid and apparently warped in his values to spend his $ on something that actually matters.
Personally, I enjoy hearing about (I’d never watch) them failing. They try so hard to buy what they can’t win through developing players.
I want them to fail over and over till the rich boy decides he doesn’t want to waste money on them anymore. I want to see how long that takes. And of course I don’t want to see him validated in his efforts. That certainly wouldn’t be “good” for UH or the Big12.
But… To each their own, I suppose…
