I think The Athletic has great content but I think it is overpriced after the 12 month teaser offer expires. The teaser rate was $1.00/month for 12 months, then my subscription jumped to $7.99/month. I emailed them that I wanted to cancel my subscription and they offered me a monthly rate of $1.66/month for 12/months, which I accepted. If you are like me and were paying $7.99/month, you are paying too much.
BTW, Sam Khan is a writer for The Athletic and does a great job covering UH.
You’ve got to call, always works better than if you try on-line.
I’ve called att so often they gave me the direct line to retention so I don’t have go wade through their menu anymore.
Truth is, I love the negotiations. Even when buying a car. The salesman in me just won’t go away.
Same with Sirius and Comcast. Sirius’ rate is ridiculous unless you negotiate. And don’t accept their first offer. Keep saying you will cancel and it the offer keeps going down.
On the Athletic as several have said , you have to go in to cancel w like 2 mos left. They’ll offer a new subscrip for like 12.00/year. Sometimes the new one kicks in 1 mo b4 the old one expires but big deal it cost me 1.00 extra n i save the hassel later.
Ditto w Sirius radio & DIRECTV, i negotiate a very low rate for both.
ARRRGGHHHHH… I can’t cancel because I no longer have an account they say. I can’t get the $2 deal they offer …it bounces every time I try. I can’t locate a number to call either. Very frustrating…very. I have tried for several days with no luck GRRRRR! Thanks to those of you that have tried to help.
I already did. I just officially told NYT to consider me dead in hopes that when I rise from the dead I won’t be familiar. Maybe that will work. All just to read the article about Fritz SMH.
