The Bulluminati Podcast: A Chat with Mike Aresco by The Daily Stampede

They start with the women’s basketball tourney, but get into other conference aspects afterwards.

Collin Sherwin is back with another special guest in Mohegan Sun Arena at the American Athletic Conference Championships, this time with Conference Commissioner Mike Aresco for a Bulluminati Special just ahead of the Championship Game.

Collin goes one-on-one with Mike Aresco in a candid conversation where they discuss a certain other Athletic Director’s remarks on the #AmericanPow6r campaign, the success of these conference championship events, the state of the league across all sports, the accomplishments of the conference and garnering major national attention, and what to look forward to in the future. They also talk about avoiding this crazy nor’easter and traveling back to Florida in time for the Men’s Basketball Conference Tournament. This is a great listen for all fans of the American Athletic Conference and it’s member institutions in keeping up with the state of the conference.

Just some quick notes:

  • Took a lot of offense at NIU AD Frazier’s “bullying” comments and called it ridiculous.
  • Really seems optimistic about the next media deal
  • Says that they are working on beefing up each member’s media production capabilities to be able to show more sporting events(good news for baseball fans that have to deal with the poor cameras)
  • Looks like the AAC will be sharing officials in football with another conference. Already doing so in basketball with the SEC and Atlantic Sun
  • Conference office may move to Dallas. Few more years on lease in Providence, but want to be closer to schools or at least in a city where the conference has a school

Yes, better camera HD for baseball.

If we get 12 to 15 million for TV we should be set.
