“ I don’t remember not wanting to coach. When I was young, my mom would pick me up at school and drop me off at my dad’s practices. I did not get any natural gifts from my dad to be a basketball player. When I decided to walk-on at Oklahoma, he told me at first he wanted me to redshirt because he thought by the end I could help him. As soon as I got on campus he said, “Nah, you’re never going to any good. I just wanted you around for five years.”
