The Indiana Bears?

The Chicago Bears are leaving Chicago. You know how weird that sounds?

This isn’t the Houston Oilers leaving Houston. This isn’t the Baltimore Colts leaving Baltimore. This is the Chicago Bears, one of the most iconic teams in the history of the NFL.

Seems like an Oilers-Houston scenario… the Bears are watching every other team get new palaces to play in and they’re in old Soldier Field.

Guess I need to go there ASAP…

Texans aren’t playing there but my NFC squad inherited through marriage is… the Saints… gonna try to make that…

They aren’t changing names tho, right? This is unfortunately a matter of convenience for them. New stadium in another near by location. The ny teams don’t go by nj.

Have no idea, I almost put a ? In the title. I think I will. That was just a name I came up with, I seriously doubt a team in Hammond Indiana will be called Chicago. This is just so different IMO

San Francisco 49ers
Los Angeles Rams
Los Angeles Chargers
Miami Dolphins
Buffalo Bills

All play in different cities than their name.

*Another post had listed Cowboys and Giants, then deleted his post

I think they will keep the name. If this was Houston, Hammond would be considered a suburb.

Yeah, this is a Jets/Giants situation where they’re gonna be playing in a suburb that just happens to be on the opposite side of a state border. See also: that time Cincinnati Basketball was playing their games in Kentucky while their arena got renovated.

Sickening that they’re going to be playing indoors, though. The Bears playing in a dome just don’t feel right.

This is just another Jets/Giants scenario.

Nothing to see here.

Bears are not going to East Chicago or Gary Indiana. This is a leverage play. If anything they will head out to a nicer suburb of Chicago that is still in Illinois. That is just my uniformed opinion never having even set foot in Chicago though lol. I know there are a lot of parking issues with the current field and probably some other issues but it is a pretty unique and historic stadium right on the waterfront, would seem like they could figure out something at the existing site

Moving to a suburb of Chicago (Arlington Heights) was the original plan before they got a sweetheart deal in Indiana. Hammond is actually closer to Soldier Field.

I doubt they will move from Chicago, I think this is just a negotiating chip and eventually the Bears will get what they want.

Hammond is a suburb of Chicago. It’s a 35 minute drive from downtown.

More sensational than actual and certainly not an Oilers to Nashville situation

I think the fans who live in Chicago, and have for all their lives, think it’s a big deal. From what I’ve read from their reactions anyway. I’m sure it’s not a big deal to the run of the mill Houston Cougar’s fan

Run of the mill? That’s a Coogfans legend

It is only 25 miles from Chicago, it’s like the NY Giants and the NY jets playing in New Jersey Meadowlands stadium. My guess is they will still be headquartered in Chicago and will still be named Chicago Bears.

As I said. It would just be another Jets/Giants scenario.

Nothing to see here.

A great big NOTHING burger.
