March 31, 1984: Final Four in Seattle
It’s now been 40 years since the Houston Cougars won at the Final Four, which is why I say the last Elite Houston Cougars team.
While I’m happy to enjoy this current Houston Cougars basketball generation of success, it still hasn’t reached the Elite level of the 1982-1984 era and frankly I feel like right now we’re going through the Warren Moon Houston Oilers era where we’re nationally competitive and talked about as a championship contender but then always come up short when it matters most.
I hope we’ll get there, but at the same time, I don’t want to wait another 40 years for another elite Houston Cougars Basketball Team…
