When is “Raisins” re-opening?
Their biggest issues, in my opinion, upkeep. Once they had increased competition with at least one (Twin Peaks) beating them at their game, the flaws were so much more apparent.
Focus on
- Cleanliness
- Food quality
- Service
improvements there will get people to return more often.
Will their wings not suck anymore?
The girlfriend of my college roommate worked at Hooters so he never wanted to go. Of course there was a few of us that would still go and sit in her section but we never told him and she did the same. It wasn’t until she was promoted and didn’t have to wear the shorts that he had no problem going.

It was never, ever “good, quality food”…that’s literally why they needed the cleavage as a sales tool.
Let it die. I don’t miss Sambos either.
I like their wings. I also think their buffalo chicken sandwich is great.
Next they should bring back the classic dine in Pizza Hut, I would definitely go.

Buffalo Wild Wings blew them away a couple decades ago.
Asian Zing from BWW is probably my favorite wing flavor but I prefer breaded wings from Hooters.
Ojos Locos is the new Hooters/Twin Peaks
Buffalo shrimp and snow crab legs at Hooters…
And titties…
Ojos Locos belongs on the bottom of the list for food quality out of those.

Not sure where Tight Ends belongs on the list as they don’t have one in Houston anymore. Not sure on Tilted Kilt either. However, even if you add those, Ojos Locos is likely going to still be on the bottom.
The two times I ate at Bombshells (years apart) both were not good. I would have them at 5 with Tight Ends at 3. Tight Ends was decent but not good Maybe better than the current Hooters food.
Bikinis would be at 4 ahead of Bombshells.
For watching sports, Hooters drops a lot since they redesigned their stores so that no TV actually faced the front of the seats. Hate sitting sideways to see the TV.
I didn’t know bikinis still existed. I thought it went out of business 10 years ago.
The more I think of it though, I think there is no tie and Hooters should be above Bombshells. Ojos Locos is still the bottom.
Bombshells did recently redo their menu and get rid of a lot of stuff on it. Could be an opportunity to tighten up their food quality.
I think the inconsistency of the Hooters food is why I tied them with Bombshells initially.
It may not exist anymore. I have not been in a very long time. It is/was Austin based so may still be one there.
Hooters was much better food when they were a sports bar and guys hang out rather than attempting to be a family restaurant. I am trying to remember if they went through some ownership changes or just franchisee changes that caused cutting costs and quality (or both).
Never been to Ojos Locos.
