I honestly think Weigman does need “reinvented” at all. In his past, he has gotten what he didn’t need- bad luck, coaching changes, and injuries. He has not gotten what he needed- good health and consistent coaching. He got a raw deal with the farmers in that expectations were off the charts with a team that looked for real on paper but pooped on the field-(as the farmers always do.) I think we saw flashes of what Weigman is capable of @ UH and hopefully he will rise to the occasion this year and become the player we expect. He is already a good player, but he could really blossom this year.

I honestly do not care that the National media ignores Conner. What matters to me is how he responded to adversity last season. He started great then he hit a brick wall, was injured and more importantly questioned himself. He got out of it like leaders do. That to me is more important than any analyst dissecting every possible flaws. Ask LSU after thinking they would smoke him. They got BBQed. He has a great coaching staff around him with new weapons. What happened yesterday means squat. Let’s go Conner.

After reading the article, I have to give a shout out to author Lee Ann Herring-Olvdeo. Well written piece. Too good for a sports profile.
Texas A&M, by inference, does not fare well in the piece on developing Weigman. You have to wonder why Weigman’s mechanics were not correct while at Texas A&M. His QB coaches were Dameyune Craig, Bobby Petrino, and Collin Klein. In fairness to Petrino, who was QB coach in 2023, Weigman started 4 games in 2023, and then had a season ending foot injury.
Weigman’s college football journey has had its ups and downs. He now has a coach that beleives in him. I think Weigman’s best is yet to come.
