Tilman hinting at the possibility of Holgorsen returning next year?

On another thread I predicted a team collapse like we saw in 2007 at Tulsa when the players knew Briles was leaving.

I predicted another 51-7 debacle.

If I am right, does Dana return?

I believe the answer to that is ā€œno.ā€

If that happens, no one can claim even a shred of anything to build on for next season. That would be the bottom falling out. And a change would be made.

I cant imagine that the decision hasnt already been made one way or the other.

Can’t spell it out any better that this

That’s a good point. However, I don’t think the decision to fire Applewhite prior to the bowl game debacle.

It’s been said many times by many here that the powers that be don’t want to fire CDH. I tend to agree with that. But, facts remain: leadership has expectations of CDH, and he hasn’t lived up to those expectations. A collapse in the form of a route by UCF can absolutely sway the decision of whether to keep CDH or not. Leadership has until Jan 1 to make up its mind.

I agree. I can see a debacle like the Army game change minds.

Oh it was. They knew they were gone and spent the entire recruiting budget staying at nice hotels and flying instead of driving.

So…they are going to go the scapegoat route instead of adressing the main cause of the 5 years of utter garbage…5 years!

Don Fertitta will do anything to justify keeping his buddy.

Did the cheating scandal and forfeit of 3 games play into the decision as well ? Or how
the Ed Oliver jacket incident was handled ?

The Cougars, who originally went 8-5, will now officially have a 5-8 record in Major Applewhite’s final season

We’re these wins ever restored ?

Guys, guys. Its our fault and the portal will save each and every one of us if we’re willing to admit our sin of being a bad Coog. Repent!!

If someone were actually going to say yes he goes or no he stays based on a throw away game at the end of the season……we’ll we have bigger problems than just Dana.

Well he’s playing in the right stadium for his tenure to end if it does ā€œThe Bounce Houseā€ bounce him, right on out of here

I have always thought that we have one of the sorriest Fairweather Fanbase that want Dom Perignon with a Blatz Beer price.

We have relatively low season ticket prices. I sit in seatback seats on the 2nd row from the bottom of 2nd level on the 45 yard line on the visitor side. For my season ticket, I paid $713 each including the UT game, ticket price and donation. Try comparing that to ticket prices in the rest of the B12. When you want B12 things, you have to pay B12 prices.

Yeah, our ticket prices are absolutely dirt cheap. I have a friend at Penn State, and their student season tickets cost more per seat than I paid for my tickets this year.

Of course he was imposed upon. You think Pez is anything other than an administrator? You think he’s got the sack to speak to CKS, for instance, about anything other than how the school can make the game day experience better?

You guys think the AD has some power. He didn’t hire nor provide CDH with an extension. Nor did he have any say over the price tag.

What he can do is make the experience better for all involved, which he has not done. What he can do is present the overall budget for the dept and make suggestions. Maybe some executive authority around the edges. That’s it. Speak to donors etc.

And that’s true with Ross Bjork at Aggy. You think he made that call on Jimbo? No.

And also true with Del Conte at Texas. They have no sway. Hate to say it, but Deloss Dodds might have been the only one with real pull.

Matt Thomas show:

The University of Houston football head coach Dana Holgorsen joins The Matt Thomas Show to express his disappointment that the Cougars will not make a bowl game this season. However, Holgorsen is confident that the Cougars will eventually find success in the Big 12. ā€œWe have a plan. It’s not going to happen overnight,ā€ Holgorsen said.

As the Cougars play their last game of the season Saturday against the UCF Knights, Holgorsen is already thinking about next season. ā€œWe got an awful lot of work over the next eight weeks to get us into position to be better next year,ā€ Holgorsen said.

This f’in sorry ass coach still wants more time. MF wants to start work after 5 years.
