She was a great entertainer/singing talent that had the misfortune to be married to an abusive, controlling husband, Ike Turner.
She deserved better. She was a survivor. She was a cultural icon. She’ll be remembered.

Yes, another example of the fact that women
will sometimes stay in an abusive relationship
for too long. Ronnie Spector being another example.
All before the “Me too” movement. Ike Turner used his power and influence to control Tina. She was 17 when they meet, and he was the band leader.
