To ESPN, UH Basketball Seems Little More than a TV Schedule Filler

"ESPN attempts to save money by not even sending announcers in the game, instead having them call the game from studios in Bristol, Connecticut"

.

That’s odd. Each UH game I’ve seen they’ve shown live shots of the commentators and they looked like they were in the arena? Guess I was wrong?

Yeah, I’m confused as well… This article doesn’t state what games we’ve had with no announcers on premise.

I don’t care if the announcers are in Alaska as long as we are getting air time. It’s all about exposure who cares were they call the game from.

There were no announcers for the Tulsa game. There were announcers for the Cincinnati game.

I think we’ve had 2 games for the men and 1 for the women that didn’t have local announcers. I read an article where ESPN picked 65 games to do remote announcing so 3 for one school is a large percentage. Still, not a huge deal unless it’s something CKS or the AD are complaining about, which I don’t believe they are.

Kind of strange with Brett Dolan and Reid Gettysburg in town that they wouldn’t work more games. Maybe they’ve got other commitments on those days.
