Too Early Big 12 Deep Dive (26-27 season)

He’s what I will refer to as a Coogclone moving forward. …

Should be a Coog but I’ll allow him to be a Cyclone… lol

You pointed out the three players they have that will be relied upon so they have a lot to prove as an entire roster. I do have some questions as to how well Kharch and Krivas will adapt to expanded responsibilities.
Holt is also a fr which is always a wait and see and no in coming wing can be classified as an elite defender with only HS experience.

The issue isnt ability as much as it is minutes for a true freshman center

  1. There’s only one center on the court so there’s not as much opportunity to play like a guard or wing who are interchangeable.

  2. Basketball has went small, so the traditional center and style of play for centers has been phased out which also leads to less opportunity and minutes.

  3. Most teams will have a vet big man that will get the minutes that are already limited before a true freshman. The increased numbers the second season is most likely due to some vet big graduating…which means…more minutes

Theres some examples of centers that made impacts as true freshman…Deandre Ayton, Chet, Mobley, Edey, Clingan, and recently Maluach…

Now Im sure you are going to come back with that it takes a while for a freshman big to adjust to the physicality and size of college…man…this dude is 7’1 285…

There really isnt many to even compare this kid to. The issue will be minutes and gameplan. Not ability or having to adjust.

FSU has their own BIG freshman center, 7ft 300+lbs. Should be an interesting matchup vs them this year.

At 6’3 220ish I used to play a guy who went 6’7 300+ (he had played at HBU).

Mass has a quality all its own.

Fortunately he was a gentle giant

Alright Pesik. We have to bet this one. If UC finishes what you predict or worse, I’ll donate 10 bucks to the coog NIL fund. If UC finishes better, I’ll ship you a can of Skyline chili and you have to chug it in one drink on Cam.

Deal ?

None of this backing out like last time.

The difference between ranked 12th and 13th will be like 1 game, and I noted in the big preview that there wil be shifting because everyone is rocking new rosters

Make it “better than 10th” aka 9th place or better and we could have a discussion :eyes: lol

LFG @pesik !!!

If @justinhub2003 really had faith in his Bearcats he’d bet you that they’d finish above the Coogs in the standings…

I’m dumb but I’m not stupid.

Coogs over bearcats for 1 more year. Enjoy it. We are back. Be careful or you’ll be chugging skyline chili too.

9 years in a row we’ve finished above your pu$$y cats…

I think that streak stretches to 20 years before you guys get it together up there… Kellen is ready to hit the ground running once Kelvin retires after winning his natty…

Back on the bet… $10 to NIL isn’t worth chugging a can of skyline chili… you gotta have some skin in the game, too…

Who the hell is this clown

Justin talked a lot of crap about how good Cincinnati was going to be. He was dismissive to any opposing points that he should temper expectations. Once they floundered a couple games he disappeared the remainder of the season.

Oh stop. An essential part of basketball is Trash talk. I’m just having fun. It’s almost a bit now… every year I come hear and say the coogs days are numbered, every year panties get in bunches and every year I’m only half serious.

Chill bro.

If UC ain’t winning the league, I want the coogs to win. AAC bros for life.

Man I’d chug a can of skyline for free if someone was buying. Your mouth will like it but your butt hole will pay the price.
