Top 10 highest rated UH HS signees of the Internet age(2000)

You do realize the 1970s was 50 years ago right?

Modern era defines the internet era. Aka the last 20 or so years.

This is a tough pill to swallow, but all of the guys you’re talking about that are still with us, are in their 60s and 70s now with grandkids.

Under this definition Earl Campbell does not count for The Longhorns.

All those great Bear Bryant players at Alabama like Joe Namath and Kenny Stabler do not count.

The incredible USC players before 2000 do not count.

Roger Staubach at Navy does not count.

What a worthless idea.

Generally, they are saying that it would be too much work to research and rank a true all-time list.

The 70’s was definitely the Modern Era. We had players that were parade all-Americans which was the most respected hs rating system during that time!

With all respect 50 yrs ago was still the modern era!

Yea so we have seen a lot more football than some others on this board! Having grandkids is not a disqualifier

Rotary phones and 8-track players were cuttin edge technology at that time.

Ya’ll are too much! :rofl::rofl:

Hey…don’t knock rotary phones. They worked great as long as you stayed in one place…Oh…and I guess they were a bit tough to text message with.

The frontal lobes take time to develop.

As a former historian, I can attest to the fact that in academic circles the 1970s is often referred to as the stone age…

I heard interesting things about Woodstock.

When get in the big 12 next year, you are going to see higher rated players just like when we got into the Southwest conference in football in 1976 and finished 4th in the nation ( highest ranking in school history).

Jeff Bergeron, Port Neches, no.1 recruit in country along with Warren McVea.
I could go on and on but calling it the modern era is a joke.
I will go ahead and tick off some of you youngsters, since 2000 the only Coog football team that could sniff top 10 in school history is the 2015 bunch, and it wasn’t exactly a powerhouse FSU team we beat.
I thought. 2016 was a better team but Herman fixed that for us

I know some of our technology was too advanced for you “pups”!

247/Sports n the young ones are coming after you Butch. :joy::smile::smiley:

Edit: I guess if only modern era is going to be used, throw away those Cotton Bowl wins. Gets very confusing but I know its been discussed b4 on Basketball site.

I’m hiding in my easy chair!
