For those wondering how TCU has managed to hand onto Gary Patterson–they pay him a bunch of money.

Article is recent but their data is not. Fisher is making $9MM not $7.5MM.

I guess there’s always that rumor that Patterson is really paid in oil royalties and made a ton of money in the 00s as a result

I was surprised to see Shaw from Stanford that high. I understand he keeps football relevant in Stanford with such high academic expectations. So, he is an excellent coach but to be #3 in the coaching salary was not expected.

I feel like he would be the guy NFL teams would come after but none have been able to convince him to make the jump yet.

TCU has a lot of wealthy and willing alums. When they remodeled their stadium after their Big 12 invite, they raised $105,000,000 from 35 guys in 8 months

Stanford’s endowment can burp that money.

What’s even more surprising is how little Notre Dame pays Brian Kelly! At $2.67 million a year he has to be the lowest blue chip football head coach in all of college football! Even some G5 coaches get paid way more than him! Shocking how stingy Notre Dame is given how much money its football program brings to the school annually! Here is a list of Brian Kelly’s salaries throughout his tenure at Notre Dame:

Yeah, but coaching for ND gets you a free pass to the Pearly Gates…

Mississippi hands down. 1/3 the cost of living, 1/3 the taxes, 2x the quality of life.
