Transfer Portal 2025

It’s definitely hurt the sport. Our fans just don’t realize it yet because Sampson has managed to keep the program in a time capsule. I’d like to players sign a two year deal out of HS. If you make it through those two years and want to transfer out then you can with no penalty.

But it’s hilarious that you posted 15+ times a day hyping up weak players like Dillon Mitchell (who if he was ANY good would’ve been a lottery pick after one college season) and how good you were expecting Cinci to be…
…and then you basically tucked your tail for the season once it was evident that Wes Miller still sucked as a coach at the big boy level.

Too funny.

Penalizing players for making moves that benefit themselves and not penalizing coaches and schools for making moves that benefit those parties is the exact mentality that is now reaping what it has sown. Acting like players are the issue in all this is not the lesson to be drawn from this evolution of college sports.

I’m not blaming the players. I’m blaming the system and hoping for more regulation. I think fans overwhelmingly don’t like the lack of roster continuity. Putting in one or two tweaks to the transfer portal would imo help with that.

Tyran Stokes will not reclass

I’m not for putting in restrictions on players that they have little to no input or agreement with. Especially if those restrictions don’t come with others that are put on schools, administrators and coaches.

To show you how jacked up this whole NIL system is, look at Tennessee football.

Josh Heupel was under contract. Re-negotiated cuz he “outperformed” the current contract. Nobody says anything.
Nico was under some NIL financial agreement. He “outperformed” it based on the team’s success, his stats, or whatever. He gets billed as the villain in this.

It’s a broken system that I don’t follow, won’t contribute MY finances to, and it’s not regulated.

We’re “blessed” to have CKS and family/staff here at this time.

And to ZRF(I think it was his post about B12 vs. SEC), the SEC is here to stay under the current system. Those coaches aren’t willing to build a program like UH. They’ll just poach the best of the best from the non-P4 conferences and reload each year and hope it meshes. Chris Beard was renown for that at TT and UT. He’s right at home now.

I’d assume he’s entering in case they pass the 5yr eligibility rule…. A lot of guys in the portal currently don’t have eligibility for next year. The question is…. would he return to UH?

Could UH really get Javier back? Man, next year’s team would be so dirty.

So the 5th yr of eligibility players are strickly guys, whos freshman yr was 2021-22 season

So, Jwan, Mylik, Cryer who utilized the extra covid yr. They’re officially done

But alot of dudes who entered the portal are the Francis types. 4 full seasons in 4 yrs. Looking for a 5th yr, if some new rule passes

But why would he enter the portal? Does that mean he want to go to another team?

We had to fill his spot with Khalifa Sakho.

Cause Francis eligibility is a question mark. So if he was granted a 5th yr. Unfortunately, it could be like a Brison Gresham situation.

All hypothetical right now.

Screw that. Tell Sahko to reenter the portal.

Portal is closed plus slim chance of a 5th year being granted

we could always have someone be a walk-on to have enough scholarship slots for francis and uzan :skull:

If Francis can come back, you do whatever it takes. He and Uzan back? Let’s freakin go.

Right. If you want the rule to go into effect, make the rule start next yr

Alot of teams have built their rosters, spent their NIL. Based on the expectation those players were out of eligibility.

I would love to have Francis for another season, but this decision would add more chaos to college basketball (Zeke Mayo, Zhuric Phelps, Elijah Hawkins, Ian Schieffelin, Julian Hammond III, etc)
