UC roster is pretty heavy on international guys too.

Kerr Kriisa
Thiam
Baba Miller
Halvine Dzallet

And Celestine is from Canada.

But I think it’s valuable that they are international guys with high major experience, which all have even if a little

lol yeah i meant fresh international with no scope of how well theyll do… most of the ones you named have played college ball and half played in US high schools aswell

international players normally have lower success rate, but i dont think theyve been this caliber before… not clue what to expect

examples:

  • Lefteris Mantzoukas (ok state) played on the championship team of the best overseas league, but was rotation bench… he was doing 33pts per when he played at a lower level
  • Elias Rapieque (kstate) also played in the euroleague highest level. but also was just rotation bench… was doing 20pts 7rbs7ast in the euroleague lower division
  • imo byus weakness is the power forward… but they have 3 unknown international power forwards on roster… big producers but at lower leagues. if 1 of them is decent, watch out ::
byu released some scrimmage film yesterday: 2 of the 3 are the 1st 2 scores (dreads and light skinned guy): https://x.com/BYUMBB/status/1925333983174459848
  • Ben Henshall (Texas Tech Target/not committed) - started on a great NBL, stats arent amazing, but started over multi-year pros, including a former 1st team all-big12 and all-big 10

no clue if they translate to d1, theres like 6 similar I won’t even mention

Kerr Kriisa was once considered one of the best euro players to commit US, His resume pre-arizona isn’t that great as some of the overlooked guys now… really interesting how it plays out

My favorite Kerr memory was the Sweet 16 in San Antonio when UH absolutely bullied him and essentially shoved him into a locker. He was broken by about 5 minutes into the game.

Pesik - I have family that plays overseas and has attracted college interest (he’s 17). Your writeup is pretty accurate. Only thing I’ll add is most overseas players receive housing and a small stipend to spend on food/etc. In other words, similar to what US college players received not that long ago. The top Euro prospects get a little more money but nothing close to what US college players are getting from P4 programs.

If Kriisa sees significant playing time they’re in trouble.

Tech badly needs to land someone. I think they’re still a piece away from being a Final Four contender

What’s happening in Lawrence…?

Tech was never expecting williams back… all their hope has been in henshall, they are basically begging him on every social media account lol

I just can’t believe NC State has better NIL than Kansas… maybe he just didn’t want to go to another Big 12 school and have to play against Tech…

I have a feeling Kansas will at least be competitive and be middle of the pack in the Big 12. Mid, yes, terrible not so much. They have a few talented returnees led by Fiory Binduga and their excellent freshman Darryn Peterson. And coach Self is still one of the best in x & o’s and to patch a roster up.

What’s NC ST’s projected lineup look like?

Pg - Tre Holloman
Sg - Matt Able (5star #26)
Sf - Terrance Arceneaux
Pf - Darrion Williams
C - Paul Mbiya (intl.)

They are the favorites for PJ Haggerty. Remove Abel from the starting lineup for Haggerty if that happens.

Just glad he’s not at tech anymore.
