Transfer Portal 2025

I’ll randomly get a new hater… I’m always curious if it’s an old poster with a new name … or just someone who has never posted on the basketball side just wanting to be a hater…

from you history we’ve never interacted nor do you post on the basketball side… but speaking like we regularly debate :sob:

What’s progs up to nowadays?

So if TA is starting here who’s sitting?

He would not be starting here.

In his Gocoogs interview on Sunday CKS alluded to the fact that he had to play TA before Mylik because TA gets in his head and isn’t as confident as Mylik but at the end of the day he trusted Mylik over TA…

No way he would’ve started this season… period.

He said the exact same thing about Galen…
he said Ron should have been the starter… that it was actually close in the competition… with Ron having a slight edge… but Galen wasn’t mature enough to play well off the bench

Everyone here is making arguments why Kingston is better than TA … no one is denying that…
I on the other hand, am speaking to 12 years! Speaking on a huge sample size

Like I said before, if Leron had transferred his senior year, went on to do 4pts per Texas southern… if I said he would have started over Rob Gray … I guarantee you you’d be having this same debate that it’s crazy to think leron would start over rob gray …
Sampson follows a protocol and rarely dividers from it…

We’ll agree to disagree on this one…

Why are people “haters” because they don’t agree with your takes?

So TA knew he wouldn’t be starting here, and so he hits the portal and transfers. Yet you’re now claiming he’d be starting here? Pesik, as always, you’ll never admit you’re wrong and thus you dig a deeper and deeper hole.

Damn. I haven’t jumped in for a while. And we are still talking about TA vs Flemings. Lol

theres more context to that… terrance had been trying to leave for a while… dating back to 2 seasons ago…harwell was picked up in his indecision… who at the time was a top 7 5star

I wouldn’t worry about it. Your intel tops no one else here. If you are wrong on occassion - so what. You provide us with information that I appreciate so much being stuck in Arkansas.
Nothing against those who provide great information (Joprior etc.) but I’m a fan

Pesik, you definitely have haters haha that’s a fact. The TA take is, without a doubt, horrible take by you, but I do see a lot of folks just piggybacking and repeating what’s already been said. I wish we reserved this energy for people who say absolutely ridiculous things on this blog like, “Cenac sucks…Milos sucks…Flemings should be more like Ron Artest.” Let’s respectfully hate on those people!

its not a bad take… i think you guys are debating that i think “TA is better” which i never said … :sob: but that sampson is a creature of habit… he is rigid… and has done something a certain way for 12years… i gave like 6 examples… another: if dejon transferred out his junior year (returner), and mills started (sampson called the best scorer the program had ever recruited)… and I said “if dejon stayed he would have started over mills” i would’ve gotten similar slander. i know it for a fact, because there were multiple posters here saying they wanted dejon to transfer as a senior to make room for mills starting … there is protocol (ps dont hindesight, senior dejon was amazing, and mills flopped after leaving and not liked here, but the at the time feelings)

its okay to disagreee with my take, but my take isnt that wild, or even out of bounds… its a pretty mild take … again not based on skills,… but that sampson has his way of doing things. what you guys are saying would have be something he hasnt done…

I mean, I feel like all you’re saying is that Sampson tends to defer to seniority and has typically avoided playing freshmen heavy minutes if he can help it, even if the freshman is clearly a more talented player. I don’t know why this is controversial because it is clearly true lol. Some real annoying people on this board.

That being said, TA is/was so mediocre that I don’t know if Sampson would have started him in particular. Factor in Flemings being easily his most talented recruit at UH, it may have forced his hand to deviate from his usual tendencies.

I’m sorry, but doesn’t Jarace Walker blow your whole premise out of the water? When the freshman has the talent, Sampson has deferred to the talent, he just hasn’t consistently recruited at that high of a level during his tenure here instead taking lesser talents (Sasser, Shead)and coaching them up.

I understand what you’re trying to say about changing the lineup only after a loss, but that goes back several years I don’t know that it’s relevant with this team. Unfortunately, TA is struggling and never found his place here in Kingston is flourishing. I don’t think Sampson would’ve been as rigid as you believe.

This is dumb. If King was whipping TA’s soft a** every day in practice he would start.

If they were ever on the same team that would be the reality.
