I agree. I wish mercy could get his defense together.

I’m a huge mercy fan and would love him to get more minutes.

Mercy is playing the part on defense and hitting the boards. I think his role is about to increase.

He needed to bulk, get to the bucket w/ more authority, and rebound w/ more intensity.

As a COOG, I appreciate the tete-tete you and Pesik/Pollard seem to enjoy as you discuss different players or positions, Bravo. You, Pesik and Pollard all make valid points the issue I have is that sometimes all your points can be wrong or right. Kingston seems to be the central argument. Personally, I would shut up the issues and enjoy the season. We all know we are not where we want to be and we are not going to blame it on one player. We are lucky to have Kingston. Good or bad, as well as Cenac, I’ll take them and see where we go. This could be the year we do not win the Big12. Not worried. We will have the players as Sampson brings them in. Enjoy all of your discussions. We are all COOGS

@pesik never say never. CKS may not have done it before but then he also didn’t have such 5 star talent before. There is zero way that Flemmings was not starting with Arceneaux being here. CKS is not dogmatic though he might seem sometimes.

Someone needs to tell TA play down a level to get that confidence up - this is the downfall of the NIL era

I can’t believe you guys are arguing about TA starting over Fleming. CWF knew last season that TA wasn’t our answer, he also knew in practice that Kingston would start day 1. There’s always other things to argue about that are truly debatable like, why do the aggies choke on the big ones. Maybe they should hire Linda Lovelace.

You sound foolish…per usual. I wasn’t even going to comment on this, though I was told days ago that you had typed some foolishness about TA vs. Kingston. I didn’t even wanna read it cuz you have too many cronies in here that have undying belief that you know what you’re talking about. So why “fight” them and you?

Speaking of Leron Barnes…Barnes was personally at fall practices and said that Kingston was DOMINATING practices. Dominating them! That’s why he started vs. Miss St. Cuz he was clearly one of the best 3-4 players on the roster. That you’d “fix your mouth” to say that TA - if still here - would start over Kingston proves how delusional you have gotten.

CKS did NOT start JoJo over Francis cuz of the 2 Players Era losses. That’s like you saying that he blamed Francis for the losses… He started JoJo cuz he was a better player than Francis…in CKS’ evaluation. The 3 best guards/wings will start. The 2 best post players will start. That’s the CKS starting 5 philosophy. JoJo as starter last year gave this team its best chance of winning after getting past his offseason foot surgery. Francis adjusted to his bench role and we started getting a more consistent, productive Francis whenever he subbed into the games. Like the UCF road W…

The CRAZIEST part is that you may actually believe the shenanigans that you type on this board. That’s a scary thought.

And I’ll repeat : Kingston was DOMINATING practices. And the youngsta has NOT stopped, as evident this whole season.

bro stop it… you missed every point and lack understanding

Sampson didnt blame Francis for the losses… but that he only make changes to the starting lineup after losses… from superstition!
Sampson publicly said jojo was our best player for multiple games before he moved him to the starting line up… he said BEST!! not even top 2 or 3 like you quoted with kingston… samspon said jojo was our best player and had him come off the bench…only benched him after players era losses… clearly the point being that sampson always thought jojo was a starter, the losses just gave him a chance to make the move

Sampson is superstitious, rigid and protocoled… THIS IS KNOWN!!! … ive given like 5 examples of Sampson… sampson had 16pts per rob gray come off the bench for career 4pts per leron barnes

Why are we pretending we dont know this about sampson. its not even like an open secret… kelvin, kellen and lauren have publicly said this in multiple interviews…
if for some reason harwell breaks out tomorroow (averages 16pt the rest of the games), and sharp has a terrible slump to end the year (5pts on 23% for 3, fror the rest of the year)… if we won out… SHARP would still be the starter till the end of the season

again if barnes had transferred out his senior year… and i made a point that he would have started over rob gray if he stayed, no one here would have agreed

ive noted many examples that are plausible:

  • we’d have have taken more losses and thus sampson would eventually have put kingston in the starting lineup
  • that kingston would get starter minutes even if he wasnt officially the starter

those fit the things that have commonly happened in the sampson tenure
we have a huge sample size of 12 years - of sampsons protocol/susperstitions…

with that said, im not writing off the “kingston is so special, sampson would have done it for the 1st time.” or “in the past the upcoming guy wasnt a lottery pick” insinuating that sampson would have done it for te 1st time… which is fine… but you guys are acting like my take is so crazy, when it fits what sampson has done for 12 years

All of this doesn’t matter. Meaningless.

On another note, who is King’s best player comp?

Reminds me of Russell Westbrook with a way better jumper.

A former college/overseas head coach told me he sees John Wall.

And as I’m typing my fingers want to say De’Aaron Fox.

Oops thought this was the Kingston thread ha. Will put there.

Flemings reminds me of former Coog Otis Birdsong although Bird was more of a 2 guard.
Silk smooth, calm under pressure, great on defense and can create and make shots
