The (3) portal PGs, with experience:
Jaland Lowe - out for the season (shoulder)
Jackson Shelstad- injured/out for the season
Dedan Thomas- foot injury, most likely out for the season
Alot of elite PGs are graduating or turning pro.

I wonder what Kelvinâs appetite would be for someone like Markus Burton?
On itâs face, Jaland Lowe is going to make the most sense.
Burton, his injury history would scare me away a bit. Missed some time last season, nows hes injured unfortunately again.
Jaland Lowe would make sense. As long as the shoulder full heals.
Tramon coming off the shoulder, it took a full yr, for his shot to get right again.
He is probably my favorite.
Mercy is an elite scorer, I donât know what the discussion is. His playing time is limited solely because of defnsive play and a lot of it has to do with mental lapses more than ability to guard the ball on the perimeter.
Weâve also become so accustomed to âi play now or I transfer,â mindset, that we forget it used to be very normal for a player to not get much time until his junior year. Mercy will be fine if he stays. He has the ability to be a key piece next year
No way. Why would I guy go from developing in the Big 12, consistently getting better to a 5 win team? Thatâs insane. If he did transfer, there will be plenty of strong programs ready to give him a check and plenty of playing time. He doesnât have to go the low major route in order to shine
I think the greatest struggle is just finding the minutes to be able to settle in and be comfortable. It is easier to get into a rhythm when you know youâre coming in and youâre staying in and youâre not playing a team wherever shot is big.
But I do know is when he comes in he always seems to come up with a couple hustle plays whether itâs rebounding, blocking and shots or getting his hand on the ball.
How about a 4 that can shoot the three ball?
Do you think a portal PG next year is just a one year bridge before âbaby skipâ( who is now rated #1 pg for his class)?
Thatâs Chase McCarty
Chase is a natural 3 not a 4.
Thatâs of no concern. He plays the 4 often. I canât imagine the staff will go search for a âtrue stretch 4,â in the offseason. That wonât be at the top of the list
Harwell keeps up what hes doing and he may be going pro too
Something tells me that if we donât get Holt Coach will want more defense and rebounding in the starting group and bring Mercy in for instant offense.
Harwell and McCarty with size and length. Chase more 3 and D hopefully than what Isiah will be next year.
Canât expect transfer PG to be a culture leader in year 1.
I think Chase (and JoJo if he stays) will be our culture leaders on the floor. Can see Chase as better shooting/less athletic Nate Hinton type of impact.
That transition block he had was so nasty and long that the announcers thought it was JoJo.
Coach already prefers Chase over Mercy.
The more we talk about it the more I pray for JoJo to stay.
And notice none of us are talking about Chris staying for another year now. Feel like that dream has been dashed.
You donât think Diane would start?
Jo where are we with Holtâs teammate Branch?
Different roles!
At this point CKS likes 2 of his 3 guards on the court in tight games. Harwell is the filler.
I do like how he tries incorporating all of them in the first half some in case we need them in the 2nd.
I know Mercy has talent, but frankly he has shown me nothing to make me believe he has a chance to start next year, especially if Harwell and McCarty return.
Dude has been paid by the NBA, three exhibit 10s and a 2 way contract.
Do not know how he remains eligible. There are no rules.
