Lmao you think he can’t play a lick but can just decide to go play at another D1 school? That’s not how this works. If he can’t catch now, he won’t be able to catch at a low major. He could find himself in the same role, as a bench player, at a much smaller school. Not worth it for him or the other teams.

I think he’d probably be somewhere else if he could get NIL the same way most players can but he can’t because of his VISA… so, if you can’t make $ transferring to another school then why wouldn’t you stay in this system as long as possible to get coached as much as possible and get all of the UH perks…?

Bingo. He can’t make money going anywhere and isn’t likely to get PT at most schools. So he’s lay for a great program and get that degree!

To me it is absolutely loser commentary to go on public forum saying we should “trade” one of our current players. Not even sure what benefit you think that would even provide. He may decide to go somewhere to play more OR he may decide he loves being cougar and is willing to take his chances to be a part of this. I understand either decision and would be thrilled if it’s the latter. Some of you guys hear culture and like how it sounds, but have no idea what it actually means. Now go on about your business and defending yourself and complaining about me.

I used to strongly agree with this. But now with the huge NIL money these kids bring in I am more sympathetic to that line of talk. I am not yet willing to start putting down our underperforming players myself.

Coaches tell kids every year there won’t be a scholarship for them. They pull offers, ghost kids after showing up in their homes. I’m not saying our coach but some do. I just think this is a rational next step in the arms race. But I could never advocate for it. If you wear the scarlet and white this is your home forever in my book.

Ive looked all across CBK. All the good PGs are graduating/turning pro

Agree that Dedan isn’t likely to end up at UH. Dawes or Punch would be great. I didn’t know anything about Dawes but he has some real athleticism and knows how to score for a guy his size.
