Like Damian Dunn isnt rated super high, but he fits our system. And will probably do better than a Jayden Epps for example at Georgetown, whos rated higher than Dunn
My post is basically that Battle was a highly coveted transfer. Texas i believe was interested
Rankings can certainly be BS. Like on3 ranking Tramon Mark way too low. But 247 typically does a decent job with high school rankings.
Cryer is ranked #6. Mark is top 20. Those seem reasonable. I haven’t watched all these players in the portal, so sometimes these rankings help give me some additional info on how analysts view these players

just saw his interview - he has gained weight - easily 200
The more I think about all the talk about the player we’re targeting not being in the portal yet, the more I (probably completely unrealistically) hope it’s Oscar Tshiebwe. With those rebounding numbers and the ability to score in the paint, I have to believe Sampson would be salivating.

Not a stretch 4 and his P&R defense is pretty sloppy. But I’m in the camp of the man can rebound bring him in and teach him our defensive system and we should be good. Imagine him racking up double digit offensive rebounds. He’s always been one of those players I fantasize about what they would be like playing for UH

Cause on3 is hit or miss in their transfer rankings
They have Caleb Love ranked 3rd. After he had a terrible season last yr

Dunn or Mark no judging him or negative response. Those days are behind me how college sports is now.
I would rather have Dunn.
I felt like the ball movement wasn’t great with Tramon. It got sticky as coach would say
Tramons 3pt shooting was better. But Dunn is a more consistent outside shooter
And Dunn gets to the free throw line. (149 of 183). Compared to Mark (80 of 102)

ESPN also has Dunn at 27.
CBS has him at 35 or so.
Out of 1500 portal guys. 2 top 27 kids is something.

honest answer for me is mark, he’s been with sampson longer and knows the system… also a very good defender/rebounders…was going to be “the guy” next year, had some holes in his game, so did every player the year before they became th guy… i noted this before sasser entering this year is the 1st time since maybe gray we had confidence in our “star player”…
corey is just a catch and shoot guy, grimes is inconsistent, sasser (entering his junior year) he is so inconsistant and might have taken a step back…etc…even rob we questioned if he could be big time against actual good teams (as cincy kept shutting him down)… sasser coming in this year was the first year we came in feeling like our built up star was already esabilished great, and honestly the only reason we got him back was the injury …
i expected something similar with mark like all those players
