So how long is DeAndre planning to play college ball? Until he is as old as Penny? In his 50’s? A professional college basketball player, eh?

I was going to comment on how nice that 19 ppg looks, but then I looked up his 3P% (25.9% last year and 29.6% for his career). Yuck!

The addition of Stansbury to the Memphis staff. If they get Brown & Quinerly this late, pretty impressive

Only thing, Memphis has never had a problem getting talent. They will be a super old team but will they win come tournament time

Fed ex money

All the way to MSG?

memphis is turning out a very last minute kinsa tough squad

literally 2 weeks ago were

PG: mikey williams (5star but criminal investigation- must be acquitted to play)-
– backup incase 4pt ucf transfer
G: Caleb mills
G: Jonathan Pierre - d2 transfer - 6’9 guard
G/F: Teafale Lenard (8pt MTSU transfer) - touted defender
F: 6’8 Nick Jourdain 6pt temple transfer

looked kinda sorry

to now Potentially

Pg: 6’1 Jahnvon Quinerly - former 5star 6th senior/25yrs old- major player on 2 #1 teams
G: 6’5 Caleb mills (5th year senior/techincally 6th with early enrollment)
G: 6’6 David Jones - 4th year senior 14pt big east transfer (consider a top 50 transfer)
F: 6’8 DeAndre Williams- Filled paperwork to get another year, 27yrs (18&8)
F: 6’11 Jordan Brown - 6th year senior, (19&9)

-everyone from above is still available in a backup role (including potentially mikey and others)

this is a tough lineup …that will be going up against 18-20ys olds … assumign they get everyone eligibel and quinerly commits… age alone has to make them the best memphis team in the aac era …if everyone is indeed eligible (and they get JQ)… Memphis not fau is winning the aac

Penny is still their coach.

Penny aint a bad coach, just not great. I think he’s much better than when he started at Memphis. He still doesn’t seem master during-the-game lineup changes or getting the players to buy into his lineups.

He’s smart to age his team instead of just getting all 5* HS kids because of those deficiencies

I think playing Sampson has made him a better coach. I don’t think Memphis is guaranteed to win the AAC though. They always have talent over there.

ALWAYS… I don’t get it… Must be some BIG bags over there… Even back in Cal’s day…

What has Memphis done historically that they’ve always recruited top tier basketball talent?

Memphis is a basketball town and the fans there care. The throw $$$ at it as well. Players are treated like celebs and like playing there

Well, they were punished by the NCAA during Cal’s days, I think, for something with Derick Rose and had playoff and final four wins vacated.
