Moderators, if this isn’t allowed, feel free to take it down. Just wanted to let everyone know that I’ve published my book. Here’s the link on Amazon. Case was kind enough to write the foreword for me!
Have a great Thanksgiving, guys. And Moderators, thanks for making this a great place to commiserate and celebrate Cougar sports.
Jeff, I’m interested in and excited about this book! My brother (who is a pastor in Corpus Christi) also wrote and self published a book as well on Amazon a couple of years ago as well. It has done well for him, and I wish you similar success! Can you tell us a little bit about your theological background, etc. and where your faith, and inspiration to write this book comes from? Thanks a lot!
Also, I posted this same reply in the basketball forum. Thanks!
I’m usually not in favor of violating the wall of separation between church and college sports, because from my experience it’s usually all about a&m, but in this case I’ll allow it.
Shudder thinking about all the aggie v horns sermons to be delivered this coming Sunday. Either how good ol varsity was victorious like a young David or how they were smitten by the refs.
Lifelong Southern Baptist, felt the call to ministry a few months after graduating from UH (and getting married). Spent three years in seminary and have been pastoring ever since (28 years). My inspiration for this was seeing a “devotionals for Aggie fans” book at Sam’s Restaurant in Fairfield and thinking, “Someone should write one of these for us Cougar fans.”
I know what you mean. Not a huge fan of preachers bringing that stuff into the pulpit myself. Although i must admit that when I gesture “three” as in “point number three,” it’s with a Cougar paw. Subtle propaganda.
