I never said that the Marines didn’t fall under the department of the Navy, nor did I claim that any Marines I met didn’t acknowledge that, albeit begrudingly.
I simply said that DESPITE that, they don’t consider themselves to be a part of the Navy, and consider themselves a completely separate branch.
The USMC is indeed a separate branch, just like the Space Force, regardless of which Department they may fall under.
And no Marine I’ve ever met thinks anything else. They all consider themselves to be Marines, not Navy, and their branch to be the Marine Corps, not the Navy, regardless of who their department may fall under.
Wake me up when you meet a Marine that thinks otherwise or considers him/herself to be otherwise. I suspect I’ll sleep soundly.
YOU were wrong in that regard and need to back down. Take it from someone who has worked with way more Marines and knows way more about the military than you do.
Not sure where you got that crap from. Didn’t I just tell you NOT to misquote or misunderstand me?
As for their pay stub. They get their pay statement from the DEFENSE Finance and Accounting Service, just like the rest of the military, and their pay from the Department of the Treasury.
And they consider themselves to be a separate branch: the Marine Corps, NOT the Navy.
If you consider yourself otherwise, then you’ll be literally the first Marine I’ve ever met that feels that way.
And if you ever got a pay stub or pay check from anywhere else, then I’d sure like to know which military YOU were a part of.
The lie that started it all. You did a great job of muddying the water and running from your original statement. They did not “deny it vehemently”. Your bait and switch tactics are old and stale.
The USMC is indeed a part of the Navy, ADMINISTRATIVELY, as I said. Even the Marines I met BEGRUDGINGLY acknowledged that much and that the Marines fall under the Department of the Navy.
I also wrote that above, so don’t SELECTIVELY quote me.
My point is that the Marines I met all denied that they were Navy and consider themselves to be a separate branch and be MARINES, NOT Navy men, regardless of which department their branch may fall under.
Are you ANY different in that regard?
I think not. And if you are, then you’re different from any Marine I ever met.
Stop arguing with yourself, and creating a made-up issue.
Now that said, UNLIKE the Army, the USMC is much more of a MULTI-DOMAIN force, because they have so much more in the way of fixed winged air assets, as well as their AMPHIBIOUS capability.
But in recent conflicts, their mission has been nearly identical to the Army.
It don’t work like that, you made an error and need to acknowledge it. Marine Corps officers do not routinely “vehemently deny that they were part of the Navy” as you stated. Just not true. Just admit you’re wrong instead of telling general falsehoods about Marine Corps Officers.
I was saying that they deny that they are a part of that BRANCH (the Navy), NOT that they denied that they administratively fell under the department of the Navy.
Simple misunderstanding. Don’t go overboard on that.
Want a thesaurus bro? I understand you used the word “Vehemently deny” and meant to write “Begrudgingly deny”, they are not the same. Just admit that you overstated the point (you do it often) and move on
What word is missing? Very interesting how you dropped a word from the original statement. Typical attorney at law thing to do. You know that words have meaning. Why did you substantially change the whole context of your statement?
I was saying that they vehemently deny being a part of that BRANCH (the Navy), even though they begrudgingly admit that they administratively fall under the Department of the Navy.
Is there some part of that that YOU don’t understand? The two statements aren’t contradictory and are fully consistent. And they accurately reflect what I know from having discussed this very topic with them.
