We no longer live in Tucson but know exactly where the Guthrie house area is.
A few miles south of it is a very busy commercial area, including St Phillips Plaza. Lots of restaurants and stores within 10 minutes of the Guthrie house
Her area is not out in the boondocks. Indeed it is within 20 minutes of The U of Arizona.
