Tulane Next Head Coach is Ron Hunter from GSU

Oh dear. This guy is like the Lavar Ball of college coaches. That maybe highly disrespectful to Lavar Ball.

Should be a fun couple of games every year with Grandpa schooling the youngster.

Bwahahaha! I thought the reason Tulane hired him was because he proved he could lose by 30 to us.

In the article he said he is salty about things our players said to him
I thought he said it was all jokes and everyone should just have fun after the “grandpa” comments. Which is it Ron?

What I don’t get is that he dissed our coach. What do you expect our players to say?

Never hurts to have rivals, but rivalries only happen if both teams are capable of beating each other. Ron might want to start with SMU 1st if he wants a rival right away.

Something just not right about this guy.

He wasn’t even worth CKS taking off his tie. Don’t know why Tulane hired this fool!

Amen!! I get the impression that conference power brokers tend to believe Tulane will command the Louisiana media market. I’m not sure they command the NO market less alone the entire state of Louisiana.

Conference championship? Probably not. 14-18 wins and in the middle/lower middle part of the league with periodic trips to the NIT? Absolutely possible.

Penders’ style was kind of maddening and I was quite critical of him as a much younger man. I think with some age and a longer view, I appreciate that he maxed out what we could do with abysmal facilities, plus below average (to put it kindly) fan support and athletic department support. He wasn’t perfect and rubbed some people the wrong way, but he was the best guy for the job.

He has “warts” to be sure, but candidates without “warts” sure as sheet aren’t taking the Tulane job.
