Two Mouth Guards?

I saw this both on our game last night against ASU and in some brief glimpses of the Cal game on Friday. Can someone explain to me why some players have two mouthguards hanging from their helmet? So, during the play they have one in their mouth and the other dangling, but after they have both just dangling and it is just odd.

To be seen. We had a guy wear a mouth guard in the top of his helmet and the announcers talked about it all the time

I remember that now.

It is typically for their children. I know the one who used to wear it in his helmet had a boy.

Would grabbing a dangling mouth guard draw a facemask penalty?

JMO it’s an immaturity thing and a “look what I saw” so I’m going to mock it.

Good question.

I’m starting to like you, PlayTough.

And trust me coaching younger ones myself this fashion trend is trickling down.

Maybe it means you’re gonna talk all game - as if you had two mouths!
