This move still seems like a head scratcher to me. A recognized WR coach and UH alum is let go for someone promoted from player personnel. I sure hope it works out for Dana’s sake. The fact that Dana’s offense had problems scoring point consistently last year and the OC was retained doesn’t seem right. How much of a leap can the offense make this year with the same OC?
This is great news. Seems like Dana has his guy. Which is better than being unsure.
When CDH gave Carrier his first job, after his year as a GA at BU, he was in the same position as the guy that just replaced him. Shorts was a WR for Dana at WV, and was on his staff there. Maybe Dana thinks he is ready to take a step up. I would imagine that Dana is in a much better position to be judge of that than any on the board, or any student at UH.
Duh… he is a still a cougar !!
Try to keep up.
Dana is the OC
A couple of years ago, no other than Nick Saban told him that he did the best job coaching receivers in the country. That was at WVU.
I would think Saban would know more than you.
Good, at least they didn’t give him an interim tag…no point to giving an assistant an interim tag and it basically handicaps them right from the start.
Wishing Tyron all the best; have a feeling we’ll see him in Cougar red again at some point.
Now…let’s stop making excuses and go start winning some games.
Completely agree. Berman just didn’t get the full story, I guess. It happens. Makes me feel a lot better about the situation.
Without going thru the whole thread and seeing if this has already been brought up, could it be unhappiness with recruiting analysis/results in addition to coaching? No idea here, just trying to look at all possibilities.
On this board? I wouldn’t be so bold.
This makes me feel better. I wonder if Berman got it wrong, misunderstood, or if something changed.
Definitely possible. Curious timing if so though.
I’m guessing there were multiple issues at play.
Don’t bet on it !!
I’m not following any of this. What did Berman get wrong?
One of the big parts. Shorts isn’t an interim coach.
Oh.
Damn I left out ELO and Neil Young among many others
I am very fortunate. I saw live:
Supertramp, amazing sound, Europe and US. THEY belong into the R&RHOF.
Genesis at the dome, one of the very best concert ever.
Pink Floyd, Europe, Houston (Dome) and Rice stadium. Too much rain they stopped the show
The Police, Seredenpity Tour was amazing (The Spectrum awesome acoustic)
Tears for Fears
Pearl Jam in a 300 seat roman theatre. I can’t remember the name
ZZTop
The Eagles, Awesome sound
The Pretenders, Chrissie Hynde is great live
Glen Frey
Don Henley
and many others. A live band is always SPECIAL I remember going to the Pig and Whistle…great times.
The Run and Shoot was a concert in itself.

Greatest live show of my life:
Brittany Spears & Pussycat Dolls at Toyota Center
15,000 women in their 20’s dressed like hookers dancing all night. Topped off with Kliff Kingsbury getting lapped danced by Brittany on the center stage.
I’ve seen all the greatest bands live but nothing tops all those young women shaking what the good Lord gave em for 2 hours
