No, the Athletic report says that there were reports that he would be an interim, but those werenāt true and heās expected to be the coach come fall.
My guess is that they were planning to name him as interim, but then thought better of it since the new report came out three days later and from a different source. Guessing someone came to their senses and realized that naming an assistant coach āinterimā and expecting him to recruit with that title is just plain dumb.
