I understand what UC was trying to accomplish but the law of unintended consequences hasn’t been repealed.

Standardized tests aren’t perfect but you need something.

I’m coming from a position of extreme ignorance on the topic…

But seems like there might be a correlation between common core math concepts and unprepared, incoming college students in math if there is weight to the professors’ claims…

I’d put money on it.

  • 6/3 update: over 1,350 have signed, including

  • 7 of the 9 Chairs of UC Mathematics Departments

  • Plus an additional 45 STEM department chairs

    College isn’t for everyone.

You did not know? Are you surprised by this? None of this went to a referendum. It was pushed on parents. Others and I brought it up a few years back. Other states have tried to do the same and did.
