Still supports the Conference while at Nebraska. Class!
LOLâŠfound this gemâŠWhy Bama wonât play UCF or any team with a heartbeat!
Can someone please explain to me why this S&P+ figure is so important? Why should it matter to any conference?
Thanks
Itâs just a stat that tries to show where all schools rank. I wouldnât call it important, just another way to look at things.
As has been pointed out here many times, There is no National College football championship. There is the ESPN Invitational that is falsely advertised as a National Championship.
Shut up Kirk! UCF is true national champs and I donât care if the World say they arenât. They beat everybody they played! What a P5 loserâŠ
He is espnâs tool. They, the cartel & espn created this mess. No one else did. Donât be patronizing us or force feeding us what is not legit. espn propaganda is a much better description of what has become College Football.
I think heâs a P5 powerbroker tool. Kirk wants to stay the lead analyst for the CFB playoff and this will help ingratiate himself with the commissioners so that he stays where he is. He has no credibility at this point.
And heâs still trying to recover from his public tantrum when OSU didnât get invited. âJust stopâ, indeed.
Pretty sure UCF just kissed away their chances of making it into a P5!
Kirk is right they are damaging their brand.
Lol. Theyâre not damaging anything if their success from last year is in the national football conversation in March.
The only one with a damaged brand is the OSU shill.
I beg your pardon? UCF deserves their banner as much as Alabama does. This is the ncaa and cfp responsibility to include them into the playoffs. They, the cartel will never do that since IT IS BY DEFINITION A CARTEL. Do you understand the difference? Letâs turn this around to us. How would any U of H alum or fan feel if we would have accomplished what UCF did? I would feel the same way. The cfp/cartel arbitrarily chooses THEIR members over G5 Teams. It would stay like this until they are sued and lose in court.
This reminds me when Andre won the Heisman. The media did everything that they could to not include Andre. It was close but he won. I remember vividly on how the National press was too happy about it. You bet I have an ax to grind. This is a pure injustice that has gone way too long.
Kirk can pound sand all he wants. He has as much credibility talking sports as my Walgreens cashier. Playing at a decent level does not make him and expert. You can only regurgitate how much you love OSU and Alabama for so long.
UCF was they best team I saw last year and I watched Alabama twice.
The only chance we have at going to the playoffs is going undefeated this season, winning the peach bowl, defeat OU and Wazzu next season, and go undefeated in conference.
If we start 2019 even near ranked, it wonât take that. If we beat OU and Washington and go undefeated, they canât keep us out. UCF was hurt by not having any quality wins at the beginning of the season. They didnât go on anybodyâs radar till late October/early November, much like our 2011 team.
If we open the year with a road win over OU, weâll definitely be ranked and move up slowly with losses to other teams.
I really really wish I could agree with you but even if UH goes undefeated with an American Championship and a Peach Bowl win in '18 AND and undefeated season with a 2nd consecutive American Championship we will be ranked no higher than 9th by the selection committee. We will not be kept out because we wouldnât deserve to be in the playoff but rather because we would. It would be too embarrassing to ESPN and the P5 for any G5 to be in the playoffs. For us to get into the playoffs would mean that the committee (a wholly owned subsidiary of ESPN) would have to publicly announce that UH is better than 62 P5 teams including 2 P5 conference champions. Just will not happen.
A whole lot of this has to do with what the other schools do as well. Get a Bama, Ohio State, maybe USC or something to all go undefeated or close and makes it much harder for anyone to hear us.
