Late tipoffs still look the same at 6pm unfortunately.
I’ve been to a most 8pm games this year and they have empty seats.
Good thing about late tipoffs is that I know which fans have kids and which ones don’t lol

No thx waste of time and game slots
8 pm games seem better attended, and the drive time is cut by 1/2 or more.
6pm it makes sense to bring my wife and kid. 8pm I’m probably flying solo.
I’m there either way.
IMO it would be a waste of time and have little interest fan wise, even in the city.
And I’m thinking it would lose money unless played at Fertitta
and with the B12 allegedly moving back to 18 games we could always just use one of those extra noncon games on a local school if we wanted to lol
So, is there a Jordan Brand tournament and are we playing in it next season?
Jordan Brand is just 4 teams and they each get 2 games. I can’t see Sampson wanting anything to do with that after The Players Era and a game vs Auburn in Birmingham.
i doubt CKS would overload the noncon like that but since its just 1 game they could theoretically add us and san diego state to have a tripleheader
It was the Jumpman Invitational, and last year was the final year of it.
Do you also like beating up handicapped people?
I mean, UT and ATM scheduled HBU, so why not?
One game in non-con is fine….i don’t have a problem playing Rice.
But two or three games of 50 point wins is not doing anyone any good.
We need a few of those gimme games to tinker with the lineup and get some bench players some reps to be better prepared
They serve as good pre season prep.
I think Kelvin Sampson mentioned at one point in the season wanting to have a “Summer League” type preseason thing with A&M, Texas, and Baylor to get start getting players warmed up to the system and to give guys that might end up red shirting some playing time since they can’t play in the regular season.
Of course the NCAA would have to change some rules in order for that to happen, but if they can do a “secret scrimmage” before a preseason charity game, why couldn’t they do a secret tournament with some next door neighbors like HCU, Rice, and TSU.
He also mentioned that right now, College is the fewest amount of games players play in a year compared to all the games that are played in High School and the Pros.
Also, isn’t the NCAA considering upping the regular season game limit from 31 to 32 games?
No, they actually don’t.
For a second I thought that was a transfer portal graphic
I enjoy early season games getting to see everyone on the roster getting minutes. We usually do pretty good job of scheduling the lesser known teams who are going to finish towards the top of their conferences. There will always be a couple games in there for softer opponents.
