UConn just announced a game against Illinois at msg. Their noncon schedule looks pretty stacked. I know we have a game at Barclays center but now I’m thinking it’s not against UConn anymore. Maybe St. John’s? Although we might already see them at the players era tourney

I’m going to say either St. john’s, North Carolina, Kentucky.I know Duke is already playing Kansas at MSG, not sure if they go back to NYC.

I believe Duke is playing Tech at MSG. I think UH is playing St Johns in Vegas or in the NE. I assume that is what is being worked out. I hope UH gets St. Johns at Barclays, and gets 2 top teams and UNLV in Vegas

St. John’s home court is Carneseca Arena and sometimes MSG, so Barclay Arena would not give them a home court advantage, but they would certainly have the home crowd advantage. If this is indeed the matchup, it has the feel of an Elite Eight game with one head coach in the Hall of Fame, and the other soon to be in the Hall of Fame.
As they say, “This match is a main event in any arena in the country.”
Guy V. loved to play games in NYC area. I remember playing at MSG against Dayton and Long Island University in different years, and at the Meadowlands against Seton Hall in early PSJ days.

With this news of UCONN scheduling a home and home with Kansas this year, I am guessing UConn at Barclays will not happen. So, we thinking it will be St Johns?

I wish UH played 2 top 25 teams each year home and home, so UH always had one legit non con game on campus.

A local tournament would have easy wins, no travel and get Mattress Mac to sponsor the Houston Classic, make it double headers done in a weekend. The four AD’s could pull that off and who would not want to play the #1 team in the country.
