UH Alum Gersson Rosas named President of Basketball Operations for Minnesota Timberwolves

Longtime Rockets employee

I’m thinking he would have made the trade this past season when the Rockets were offering 4 1st round picks for Jimmy Butler.

Those who have worked closely with Rosas in Houston say he blends the analytic principles that Morey brought to Houston with the scouting/coaching background of Lindsey. And his experiences from video coordinator to GM of the Rio Grande Valley Vipers of the G-League to the international scout for USA Basketball have helped mold the way he evaluates prospects.

And for those who view the Rockets as a Daryl Morey Production, the man in charge himself insists that Rosas has played a major role in all facets of their organization.

“Gersson’s been a critical piece of our front office the whole time,” Morey said. “We make decisions as a group. But I would say he’s really stood out. He’s forward-thinking, he’s smart, he’s hard-working. Very good talent evaluator. Overall just a skilled guy. It’s going to be real hard for us to replace him.”
