AD Pez wants to speak to you about that Basketball gm @ TDECU.
George âSpankyâ McFarland and James Finlayson, both from Hal Roach Studios. Nice meme.
Thank you. I always try to be creative. Gotta have some humor.
First, to be clear, itâs the Countyâs facility. City of Houston doesnât have a say so.
The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, on the other hand, has a huge say so on what happens there on the South Loop.
Iâm in favor of doing something, but I donât know what that is. Would be a shame to completely demolish the Dome, in my opinion. At least need to keep the superstructure.
That the same thing many Romans were saying of the Colosseum 2000 years ago.
The Astrodome is not in the same stratosphere as the Flavian Amphitheater (itâs real name). Both were revolutionary but to different extents. The Dome isnât even close to 100 years old yet (first in construction around the birth month of my mom), so it hardly qualifies as a relic.
And youâre missing my point, which is do something with it, even if you just make it a Houston sports museum for tourists and locals. Letting it just sit there is a bad look.
Someone should check with Anheuser-Busch about opening an additional brewery in there . . . . .
Wow. There are still Bud Light drinkers?
I didnât miss your point, I was essentially agreeing that something should be done.
FTR, originally, the buildingâs Latin name was simply Amphitheatrum. Amphitheatrum Flavium is often used, but there is no evidence it was called that during the time of its use as a facility. I have visited there and walled about it. One might as well call the Astrodome, the Harris County Domed Stadium, if one is going to be pedantic about names.
It would make a great casino maybe even multi levels built in there
True (especially toward the latter point).
They have âotherâ offerings . . . . .
I have never liked Bud or Bud Light. If I did I wouldnât let a screw up by their marketing dept keep me from drinking it. The workers who make it and the shareholders should not be punished for something they never had anything to do with. I drink Miller Lite or Miller though.
Lifeâs too short for crappy beer choices. So good on you for your beverage choices.
They need to tear down the dome. Houstonians actually voted to do this but the county judge quickly made it landmark status and stopped this from happening. That could be more parking. Otherwise, they should turn it into an indoor skiing/snowboarding facility, for those hot Houston summers.
That speaks more to how bad OU is. Their fans donât want to show up for a bottom feeding team.
