UH’s Alexa Massari has new goals after being in SI swimsuit issue
Instead, Massari focused on athletics, first as a gymnast and later diving as she earned a scholarship to UH. She was persuaded to apply for SI’s swimsuit issue when the Big 12 Conference visited the UH campus in September 2023 as part of the “Be You Women’s Empowerment” series. A few months later, Massari was chosen, along with UCF softball player Jas Williams and Cincinnati basketball player Jillian Hayes, to be featured in a two-page spread in the iconic magazine.
“If it wasn’t for the Big 12 and Miss Jenn (Jenn Hunter, the Big 12’s chief impact) and my coach Robert Gunter, I would have never had this opportunity,” Massari said.
