UH Future Schedule

There wont BE any other re alignments that involve our leaving. We are where we wanted to be and where we need to be…I am tired of talk from some posters who act like we have to move to the BIG and where we are now isnt good enough…It IS good enough. and where teams who are our logical rivals are. in FB and BB both. As far as G5 is concerned, they have to have a high ranking to justify a bid. Given what happened with SMU and Indiana, schedule is going to play a bigger and bigger part in qualifying for the playoff. Youre never going to see a situation where a bunch of g5 champs are going to qualify for a playoff…P4 conferences will never agree to it.

Who is WE? Our champion ranked 4 and got a bye…and there was never any question of Big 12 champ not being in the playoff and there wont be in future, either. Our league has every reason to say we should have gotten 2 bids this year and not just 1. Its ridiculous to claim the committee would pick an mid pack team over a top Big 12 team…Sick of hearing this whining P2 crap…the committee has gotten an earful for a week about picking Indiana and look what happened to Tennessee and SMU…BYU wouldve been a better pick than any of them, and our commish needs to say so behind the scenes.

It may be worth refreshing your memory as to the actual rankings. ASU was ranked 12th, but received a Bye because byes were only allocated to conference champions. Had Clemson not beaten SMU in the ACC Championship game, the only non-P2 teams in the playoff would have been Notre Dame and the champions of the ACC, XII, and MWC. Under a scenario where Byes were awarded to the top four teams, none of the four would have gotten byes. In fact, every non-P2/ND team in this year’s playoff would have played a road game in the opening round if byes weren’t limited to conference champions. I expect that to be the modal result going forward.
